A Space NO SHOW

A non-event at the A Space Gallery, Toronto  November 1975

November 1975

A Space

As the F-Art group self-destructed a projected show at A Space was left to remaining members Dee Kay and Joy Wall. It was decided that in honour of the absence of F-Art and the untenable state of art in the midst of historical pressure and unviability of the image, the remaining members would make the absence present at A Space with an announced show that was in their dreams a NO SHOW.  An aching emptiness that was merely an empty gallery space would be a post-modern cliche, so it was preferable to publicly announce a non-event. Everyone already felt cheated, why not vacate now.
