Tubes
Concert at Massey Hall 1975.
Members
of the F-art Group interrupted the The Tubes concert by chanting
various slogans such as "DOWN WITH THE METAPHOR SUCKERS"
and "THE END OF DUMB IDEAS IS NIGH!" and sung the line
"THERE IS ONLY ONE NIKITA SUNBURN" to the tune of Guantanamera
in the manner of soccer hooligans. All dressed in matching loose-fitting
white overalls with their names embroidered on them, they stood
out amongst the glam crowd with their streaked hair and platform
boots. Many of the crowd started throwing their hand bags at the
F-art group. The F-art Group responded with a group mooning. Several
of Toronto's finest escorted the pseudo-artists out of the hall
and directly to their flea-ridden flop house on Parliament. As they
were forced to leave, the F-art group were heard to shout: "DOWN
WITH THE ANTI-CULTURE... LIVE RADICALLY DISHONEST LIVES."
OneĀ fan
deeply resented the disruption. "My life is now pointless.
I cannot get those slogans out of my mind. What use is dancing now!"
Fee Waybill, lead singer, was bemused. "What is F-art?"
No one knew. "I did appreciate the reference to Nelson Algren's
Walk on the Wild Side. They must be up to something." |
